Project Summary:
Create a compensation planning system to help manage, budget and build visibility across management levels for annual reviews for over 50,000 employees. Due to the sheer size of the company, the system also needed to provide advanced programming capabilities to increase efficiency and reduce the time managers took to make compensation updates.

Project Background:
One of the business visions was to ensure a competent and satisfied workforce through compensation & salary. In the past, the annual YRCW review process was a challenge with coordinating the data, and input from all of the managers. In order to grow as a company, they couldn’t continue in this way. The PeopleSoft system they were using was cumbersome and inadequate to handle all of the data and had limited scope for providing advanced computing when it came to salary predictions. However, the system still housed a majority of the information, but they needed something more agile and intuitive to handle the HR strategy along with a company-wide worker and system process.

There were two major challenges — integrating a new system with the legacy system and creating a process/system that was easy to use; many of the users weren’t that technology savvy, so that was taken into account.
